First Day of the Last Week

Today we began our last week of campers here at Camp Longridge. The staff rose early to work on the camp before the campers arrived. We cut grass, cleaned cabins, and set up chairs to prepare. The campers began arriving soon after lunch. We have a full house here at camp this week, almost 200 campers! After the campers unpacked in their cabins, it was lake time! We had our swim tests and then had fun swimming and diving off the diving board. Dinner was our favorite, pizza, and following dinner was Chapel. Mr. Frank shared how accepting Christ is much like accepting a gift. We must first want it (salvation), and then simply recieve it. God is also "knocking on the door of our hearts," and we must simply let Him in. God sent Camp Longridge rain tonight after chapel. Instead of our canteen break and outside game, we worked on our team skits for the talent show, and then we played Pillow Polo in the Chapel! This was a fun time for all teams. After many games between the teams, we ended with a finale game, the Girls Staff v. the Purple Team. (which is the church leaders and adults.) This was a fierce battle but the Girls Staff came out victorious! (Girls Staff never loses!) As our last Monday of the summer comes to an end and the campers are ready for bed, we can thank God for bringing us here, giving us rain, and allowing us to have fun.
