We're back

Ian pressure washed the front of the chapel. More importantly though, we have now arrived back at camp from a weekend at our various homes. When we first got back, we all caught up on what had happened on our weekends. Then we had an amazing Bible study with Frank before we had the glorious dinner fixed by Mark and a few others. Then we split up into teams to clean the cabins, fix Scott's room, and to pressure wash the chapel sidewalk.
That was pretty much the end of our day, other than all of the staff hanging out.

a look back...

MEET A STAFFER - PART FIVE

Marvelous Monday!!

hey everybody! This is Jessica and I along with everyone else here at Camp Longridge can't wait to see you this summer! We have had a busy busy day but we accomplished much. It started out earlier than usual but we had our yummy breakfast as always. Then we all headed outside, got our gloves and our rakes and got to raking! The grounds are going to be amazing to run around and play on now without all that pine straw! Then we headed in for some hamburgers and fries, along with many laughs. You guys are going to love some of our jokes!

After lunch our praise team gathered again to practice while the others went and played on the ropes course! I personally love the swing even though I scream like a girl. But don't worry, I was safe and sound and got back on the ground! Then we got a few minutes of free time and then it was time for dinner. After dinner we had our Bible study with Mr. Frank and finished talking about praying and fasting.

Then we got our stations for the Peanut Patch. I am doing tether ball so you guys make sure to come visit me and we can see if we can rack you up some points ! Then after that you would never guess what we did! Finished up some raking!! That's always an enjoyable experience. So now it's time to slow things down, we're getting cleaned up and just enjoying the rest of the night !

So be getting REALLY SUPER excited for camp this summer, because I know we are!

Arriving Back for Work Week!

We kicked off the week tonight with a 5:30 pm bible study with Frank. This was followed by an awesome supper prepared specially for us by Mark and Robbie with the assistance of a few other staffers. Thanks for your hard work guys!

Our activity / work for tonight consisted of cleaning out the maintenance closet in the chapel. We were able to clear tons of space for future storage. The organization that occurred allowed for many different items to be dispersed across campus to be stored for future use. There were many different comments made about how some of the items could be used to help the campers this summer. We are all excited and waiting with anticipation for you guys to get here!

Right now the praise band is having their first rehearsal of the summer. They are working hard to make sure you guys get the most out of their musical praise to God. They sound awesome!

Our day tomorrow starts bright and early with breakfast at 7:00 am! Personally, I can't wait to get to sleep so I can spend another day with my Savior and awesome co-workers! Not to mention, it is one day closer to meeting all of you guys!!

Excitedly,
Andrea Novak

blah blah blob

hey hey campers this is your most excellent staffer josh. Today was filled with loads of fun in the sun. We started off with a little bit of work and lawn care. You'll be excited to know that the grass is cut (Kayce was nice enough to make sure that was done today). After the exciting work was over we all went to the slide where we battled dangerous flying squirrels and cold waters. I know you're worried about the squirrel but don't worry, he is safe and sound scurrying through the woods. When we were done the amazingly wonderfully awesome BLOB arrived. The guys then spent a couple of hours anchoring it down and tying it up. The blob is one of the most amazing things that has even been created on the face of the planet. You can watch the new video of some of the staffers trying it out. I can't wait to see some of your faces as we blast you off into the lake. After blobbing we all took a trip into town to have a nice meal at Chilis. We ate great and then all made a stop at Walmart to pick up some supplies and whatnots. On the way back we tried our best to keep up with a black car that was going pretty fast. Once we returned we worked on getting a gadget working so that no one would be too hot on the blob. It's still in the works so no promises are being made yet. This brings us up to date where i am currently writing this very blog. The last thing i want to say is that this summer is going to be the greatest summer in the history of the world. Not only because you will have some of the greatest staffers in the world, but because God is going to do some amazing incredible things.
once again this is your most excellent staffer josh signing off!!!

p.s. thank you board for the wonderful dinner!!!!!!!

Another amazing day at Camp!!!

Hey campers...we had another exciting day at CampLongridge. We are getting closer and closer to the day that you guys arrive and we are so excited! Today we cleaned up the lake and got that looking real nice for yall. The guys were cutting the grass and the girls were racking up some pinestraw. The lake looks great now and we are so ready for you campers to come play with us on the new blob!

After lunch, Jessica, Andrea, and I painted the volleyball poles and the cross while the others finished up on some other things that needed to be taken care of at the lake. We finished around four so we had some free time to spare before supper.

After supper, we played a rough but fun game of whiffle ball. It was returning staff against new staff and even though the new staff lost it was fine we had so much fun playing. All I have to say is wait until next year! After showers and some more free time we watched a movie together. The day has been awesome and I am so excited about the summer! Can't wait for you guys to get here!!!

Work Week

Hey everybody on Wednesday some of us finished certification on the high ropes course. Others of us moved games out and into the game room. Then we cleared some trees behind the chapel to give it a more clean look. We also cleaned out behind the dinning hall and made a ditch so water can run off into the woods instead of going into the laundry room. We also made a ditch at cabin five so it wouldn't get flooded if there is a big rain storm. Then we ate dinner and had an amazing bible study which Mr. Frank led and now we are about to go to sleep to rest for tomorrow.

Training Week: Tuesday!

Today was another Awesome day at Camp Longridge. Everyone was staying busy doing their part around camp. After eating a wonderful breakfast with pancakes & bacon we split into our separate groups.

One group was in charge of putting together a few more foosball tables and two hockey tables. A mad and crazy tournament was held to test the new hockey tables & I have to admit it was sooo much fun!

Then, some of the guys fixed up the laundry room. Making new shelves, putting in new washers and dryers and also painting the room white. It looks great!

The rest of the staffers returned to the ropes course for another fun filled and exciting day! We began our session with a really cool game that had us stretching and getting pumped to began our climb on the course! After getting up to the top of the course, we took turns learning how to prepare the participants for the swing and learned all of the procedures for hooking them into the swing and letting them go! I loved every minute of it! The swinging was amazing! My adrenaline was rushing and i was flying through the air but it was so much fun! =)
Next, we we were taught how to belay and repel down the side of the course.

Another opportunity for fellowship happened at dinner where we all enjoyed a nice combination of ham, corn, green beans, and some very, very yummy peach cobbler! Then, we all circled up and had a great bible study lead by Mr. Frank. All these activities and the fellowship among the staffers have really allowed us to bond better creating greater friendships! I'm so super excited about camp this summer & look forward to see you and your group! Don't forget to invite all your friends because we are gonna have a great time! Please keep us in your prayers! Hope to see you soon!

Training Week: Monday!

So we definitely woke up bright and early. Breakfast was filling, thankfully, because we had a full day ahead of us! Some of the staffers replaced old light bulbs with new fluorescent ones (over 100!) while others cleaned up around camp. Kim, Tanner, and Jacob put together quite the impressive Foosball Table. This is the year that Foosball will sweep the nation, starting at Camp Longridge!

Most of us, however, used our day at the Ropes Course. We met with a cheerful character named JB who taught us all the tips and tricks. Tomorrow we're slated to work with the Zip Line, which everyone loves, of course.

The group of staffers here is really bonding. From sharing stories at meal time, to growing during Mr. Frank's Bible studies, the presence of Christian fellowship is changing us from a group of individuals into a team ready for summer ministry. Your prayers are both felt and appreciated. Please keep them coming, and we look forward to seeing you and your group this summer!
