1st Day of Camp

Hey yall, Its Kim and we have just completed the first day of camp of week one! It was an awesome day! The staff started the day off by finishing off the last little bit of work that needed to get done before the kids arrived at 12:30 and it went great. God blessed us with some awesome weather compared to last week with all the rain! Registration and all went very well! The kids were excited to get to camp and meet all the staffers! We started our activities with our swim test and the allowed swim time for a while. It was a great time to hang out with the kids and the counselors from the churches. We then allowed them time to change and then headed to our team tables for our first of many team activities. Green team won our spirit flag for the day after a tough competition by all four teams. We then had a balloon toss and chalk talk. It was a great time enjoyed by all. Then after a great time of fellowship at dinner we headed to the chapel for our evening service. The praise band led the camp in a time of worship which was preceded by Frank's message. He used the idea of baseball bases to convey the message to the kids in a fun and unique way. After his message we offered an invitation for kids to accept Christ and we had a number of them accept Christ into their lives. What a great thing to see on the first night of camp. After our service we headed to the canteen for a little break and then started up our wacky volleyball game! It was a great time enjoyed by all! Well that pretty much sums up our first day of camp and we are all looking forward to a great week with the kids!!!
