May 28, Monday

Today was our first full day of staff week. We started by getting up early this morning around 6:30 and going to breakfast. After breakfast, Mark gave us our assignments for the morning. The girls were assigned to rake the pine straw throughout the camp and the guys were assigned to cut grass. We all worked hard until lunch time and then ate a good meal. After lunch we received three different books: a devotional book "Hidden Manna", the "Soul Winning" book by Frank R. Shivers, and the Camp Longridge Manual. We discussed part of the Camp Longridge Manual for about an hour. After orientation, there was free time. The praise band had practice and Amanda and Lauren went on the Ropes Course for the first time which was facilitated by Scott, Addie and Josh. Also, some of us took showers and rested for a little while. At 5:00 we had supper and after supper Scott led us in a Bible study. We read and discussed part of Luke 19 for our Bible study. After our Bible study, all of us went to the Ropes Course and cleared up a bunch of tree limbs, pine straw and trees. Around 8:00 we had free time again and got all cleaned up. The praise band had practice and later that night we played dodge ball! The first day went really well and we got a lot accomplished!

today we came in the morning to the cafeteria and had our Bible study, and then spent the day raking the camp grounds. God really taught us about endurance and obedience to our leaders. The raking was painstaking work but we did it because we were told to and We are called do that as Christians. this years camp staff is a well formed staff by Frank and his consulting of God in the matter. We are learning now how to be better staffers and work with the kids coming this summer and we can't wait, as we prepare the camp for their arrival.

Day 3 Ropes Course Training

Today we finished up our last day of ropes course training. We had a great time on the course and we are so excited for all the kids to come and enjoy it too! We said goodbye to the two men who trained us and that we have gotten to spend the last three days with. A few of us learned how to use the zip line and are so excited for the kids to come and enjoy that also! We are all anxious for camp to get here and start the great summer we have ahead of us!

Well we got up bright and early this morning to get started on our second day of training. We were out on the course most of the day and most of us are getting really comfortable up there and having a blast. We can't wait for camp to start so we can bring all of you up there to have a blast. We are all very tired and sore, but still loving it.

Day One of Ropes Course Training

Today as the first day that the staff was able to get up into the tower for the ropes course and actually do the challenges that are built off of the ropes course tower!!! Needless to say the staff are excited about the summer and all of the fun that everyone gets to have this summer! The whole day staff were up in the air on the ropes course doing it repeatedly and getting use to the new adventure we have here at camp! We are all excited about this new edition and cannot wait for everyone to be able to enjoy this new course we have here at camp! Get excited ya'll we are eagerly awaiting the summer and ready to have fun!!!

Working toward the opening week of camp....

Hey Ya'll!
Well the staff have all met and we are busy getting camp ready for the start of a great summer come the first week of June. Right now some of the staff are here at camp this week getting certified to work the new ropes course! If you have not checked out the pictures make sure you go and take a look at our newest addition of things to do here at camp! I have personally been down and checked out the course and I am excited to start training, that way we can have a ton of fun this summer! Along with getting certified we have done some small work projects to get camp ready for everyone! So get excited! We are all super excited and looking forward to a great summer of spending time with you guys!! Get excited and we will see ya soon!
